Overview

The Senior Cloud Solutions Architect role is pivotal in designing strategic Cloud Platforms with empowered teams and adaptable mindsets. You will spearhead the implementation of advanced cloud-native and multi-cloud platforms, utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code, Kubernetes, and Zero Trust architecture. Your expertise in Site Reliability Engineering will be crucial in developing resilient and scalable platforms. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance performance and refine overall system architecture. You will stay abreast of the latest Cloud, Containerization, Kubernetes, and Cloud Engineering skills as you further specialize.

Primary Responsibilities


- Lead the design, deployment, and management of cloud-based solutions, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.


- Engage in the complete lifecycle of Cloud Platform engineering, CloudOps, and development, from architecture and hands-on implementation to documentation and support.


- Develop and enforce cloud architecture best practices to optimize performance, cost, and security, with expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).


- Collaborate with software development teams to integrate cloud services and facilitate continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, employing containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.


- Conduct regular audits and assessments of cloud environments using monitoring and logging tools like Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or cloud-native options to identify areas for enhancement and ensure compliance with industry standards.


- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to cloud engineers and other team members, showcasing a strong understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and best practices for cloud security.

Foster a culture of "automation-first" among team members. Lead automation initiatives to streamline provisioning, deployment, configuration management, and monitoring processes.


- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and tools to enhance our capabilities and drive innovation, remaining updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.


- When necessary, lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts related to cloud infrastructure issues, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and present technical solutions in a clear and comprehensible manner.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology field

- Proven experience of 9+ years in a similar role, focusing on cloud infrastructure design and management.

- Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

- Experience in designing cloud architectures with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation.

- Working experience in designing and implementing full stack/Microservice infrastructure using IaC best practices.

- Understanding of secure software development methodologies and a Code First mindset.

- Strong working knowledge of the CI/CD process, including debugging, testing, and integration of software tools.

- In-depth knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.

- High level of expertise with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana) for cloud environments.

- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and best practices for cloud security.

- Strong scripting skills (Python, Go, Bash).

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


- Lead and drive collaboration closely with other SGWS teams, including software development, DevSecOps, data engineering, infrastructure engineering teams, and IT support operations, to ensure seamless integration of cloud services with other systems.
