Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the overarching design and architectural standards for cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with fellow architects, operational teams, and delivery units to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Consult with engineering teams on significant architectural designs for product roadmaps, ensuring consistency, security, maintainability, and flexibility.
Essential Duties:
  • Produce and maintain comprehensive cloud reference architecture documents for complex and secure cloud-based application deployment, considering data privacy, access controls, and encryption.
  • Work with cloud engineering teams to ensure compliance with established cloud reference architecture.
  • Develop strategies for migrating on-premises applications to the cloud in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Evaluate cloud solution designs for best practices, cost-effectiveness, scalability, and security, providing alternative design recommendations as needed.
  • Define best practices for cloud administration, including deployment, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Conduct technical audits of existing cloud deployments to ensure adherence to current architecture standards.
  • Collaborate with the FinOps team to identify cost reduction opportunities and develop ongoing cost-saving strategies.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in cloud technology to make informed decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Assist in troubleshooting efforts during cloud-related outages.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and coach team members on cloud technologies.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
  • Support the organization's quality initiatives.
  • Travel as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in information management, computer science, or a related technology field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical certifications such as Certified IT Architect (CITA), Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA), Microsoft Cloud Platform and Infrastructure (MCSE), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional are advantageous.
Experience:
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3-4 years in cloud solutions architecture.
  • Preferred multi-cloud experience, particularly with Microsoft Azure enterprise solutions, demonstrating the ability to architect complex scalable cloud solutions.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • 4-5 years of hands-on experience in designing and configuring secure and scalable cloud platform patterns on Azure.
  • 1-2 years of experience with AWS is a plus.
  • Proficient in implementing and supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services.
  • Experience with scripting technologies and infrastructure as code tools.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and practices.
  • Experience with Microservices and containerization technologies.
  • Strong documentation skills, including the creation of detailed architecture diagrams.
  • Ability to maintain a strategic outlook while delivering business-driven solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
