Position Overview

The Revenue Cycle Analyst plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the Radiation Oncology department. Reporting to the Revenue Cycle Manager, this position is responsible for providing in-depth analytical support to ensure the precise capture of clinical billing data, facilitate accurate reporting, and optimize reimbursement processes.


Key Responsibilities

The Analyst will:

  • Conduct audits and maintain records of all treatment charges related to Radiation Oncology.
  • Collaborate proactively with billing agents and clinical staff to address and resolve billing and reimbursement challenges.
  • Analyze payer-specific revenue productivity reports to identify underpayment issues and propose actionable solutions for revenue enhancement.
  • Lead the review of changes to CPT codes affecting the revenue cycle and work with the revenue cycle team to update charge profiles accordingly.
  • Monitor ongoing changes in CMS and insurance requirements, ensuring compliance with authorization and medical necessity standards.
  • Provide ongoing education and training to clinical and administrative teams regarding regulatory changes.
  • Manage Self Pay Patient Accounts by coordinating with relevant departments to ensure accurate pricing and payment processing.

  • Refund processing

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years in hospital or medical practice billing.
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying complex financial information.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Epic and/or Aria systems.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle measurement tools and analytics.
  • Skills in report development and dashboard design.
  • Certification as a Radiology Oncology Certified Coder.
