Position Purpose

The Benefits Coordinator and Payroll Assistant plays a crucial role in managing benefit modifications for educational staff, particularly those in high school and special education. This individual also supports the Payroll Manager in overseeing payroll functions.

The Coordinator is tasked with promoting wellness initiatives within the educational environment and addressing employee inquiries related to benefit offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitates the annual benefits enrollment period for educational personnel, ensuring all employee questions are addressed.
  • Organizes wellness initiatives tailored for school staff.
  • Responds to employee inquiries and follows up as necessary.
  • Maintains accurate benefit data within the Talent Management Software system for educational staff.
  • Generates benefit and payroll reports utilizing the Talent Management Software.
  • Reconciles invoices associated with employee benefits.
  • Handles employee termination processes, including notifications regarding continued benefits eligibility and life insurance conversion.
  • Assists in processing employee leave requests and disability claims.
  • Supports employment verification processes.
  • Collaborates with the Payroll Manager on payroll adjustments.
  • Ensures confidentiality of salary and benefit information.
  • Performs additional tasks as directed by the Payroll Manager, Assistant Chief Financial Officer, or Chief Financial Officer.
Qualifications

Education: Associate or Bachelor's Degree

Specialized Knowledge: Proficiency in payroll software, Excel, and database management

Skills: Strong communication abilities, customer service orientation, and capacity to maintain confidentiality regarding payroll and benefits.

Experience: Previous experience in payroll or benefits administration is preferred.

Working Conditions

Child abuse clearances are required.
