Position Overview

This role is designated for a Senior Law Enforcement Officer within the Veterans Health Administration. The officer will undertake a comprehensive array of law enforcement responsibilities, adhering to established protocols, regulations, and procedures related to law enforcement, personal safety operations, patrol responsibilities, and crime prevention initiatives.

  • Veterans.
Key Responsibilities

The Senior Law Enforcement Officer will be tasked with a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
  • Safeguarding the civil liberties of all individuals on property controlled by the Veterans Administration;
  • Preventing, detecting, and investigating criminal activities;
  • Conducting patrols in designated areas, both on foot and via vehicle;
  • Managing disturbances and ensuring the safety of individuals;
  • Executing search and seizure protocols in accordance with established guidelines;
  • Responding to critical incidents and emergencies;
  • Conducting investigations and apprehending suspects;
  • Securing necessary warrants for searches and arrests;
  • Documenting activities and incidents during shifts;
  • Providing assistance to citizens in urgent situations;
  • Performing traffic management duties;
  • Carrying out additional related responsibilities as assigned.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This position necessitates considerable physical exertion, including running, climbing, and lifting heavy objects. Officers must demonstrate stamina, agility, and strength to effectively pursue and detain individuals who may be uncooperative or dangerous.

Work Conditions

The role involves exposure to moderate to high-risk environments, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment. Officers may encounter uncomfortable conditions, including extreme temperatures and hazardous materials.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a valid state driver's license and meet specific medical and psychological standards. A thorough background investigation will be conducted for selected applicants to assess their integrity and suitability for the role.
