Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Retain/Driver to join our team at Coastal Gulf & International, Inc.

Job Purpose:

The Laboratory Retain/Driver will provide critical support to our lab and field inspectors by transporting chemical samples to and from the lab, client terminals, or plant facilities.

Responsibilities:

* Maintain accurate sample logs and input data in our tracking system
* Inventory and order drums, disposal/used oil pickup, and laboratory supplies as needed
* Dispose of samples and transport them to proper retain sheds following quality procedures
* Ensure the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the laboratory
* Report any incidents or accidents as they arise
* Work a flexible on-call schedule
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures
* Read and understand all job and safety requirements in English

Requirements:

* Excellent internal and external customer service skills
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
* Great work history with a track record of being a responsible individual
* Excellent communication skills
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* TWIC card required

Working Conditions:

This position involves working in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.

Physical Requirements:

* The working environment and physical demands described here are representative, but not necessarily all-inclusive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
* Lifting requirement: the ability to lift up to 50 lbs
* Regularly required to stand for extended periods; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear; and to smell
* Required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms; and to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or twist the body to fit and/or reach
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
* The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
* Be able to work in the presence of odors typical of petroleum or petrochemicals without allergic reactions or nausea, when such odors are within OSHA-designated permissible exposure limits (PELs)
* May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals
* The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
