Key Responsibilities- Oversee patient care and ensure the safety of clients during their treatment.
- Act as a representative of the nursing department in scheduled team discussions.
- Document and relay medical orders as necessary, ensuring compliance with departmental protocols.
- Administer prescribed medications in accordance with agency guidelines.
- Provide first aid and emergency care as required.
- Collaborate with the Nursing Supervisor and Psychiatrist to review laboratory results.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of specialized dietary menus in partnership with the Nursing Supervisor.
- Conduct monthly evaluations of clients with asthma, maintaining accurate spirometer readings.
- Organize and facilitate individual and group educational sessions on asthma management.
- Engage in initiatives aimed at helping clients develop socially acceptable behaviors.
- Support programs that encourage clients to understand and manage their health conditions effectively.
- Utilize appropriate authority to establish behavioral guidelines within the nursing office.
- Maintain thorough and precise records of all medications administered, adhering to agency policies.
- Familiarize yourself with the pharmacy recordkeeping practices and relevant legal considerations.
- Provide coverage for the Nursing Supervisor during their absence.
- Draft memos and correspondence as needed.
- Organize and maintain client records, including medical appointments and psychiatric notes.
- Transport clients to medical appointments and assist with necessary documentation in coordination with the Nursing Supervisor.
- Measure and record client weight and other vital statistics on a monthly basis.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Possession of a valid California LVN license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Valid California driver's license, with an acceptable driving record and personal vehicle insurance.
