Job Overview

We are seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our dedicated team in the Healthcare Systems & Services sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee patient care and ensure the safety of clients during their treatment.
  • Act as a representative of the nursing department in scheduled team discussions.
  • Document and relay medical orders as necessary, ensuring compliance with departmental protocols.
  • Administer prescribed medications in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Provide first aid and emergency care as required.
  • Collaborate with the Nursing Supervisor and Psychiatrist to review laboratory results.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of specialized dietary menus in partnership with the Nursing Supervisor.
  • Conduct monthly evaluations of clients with asthma, maintaining accurate spirometer readings.
  • Organize and facilitate individual and group educational sessions on asthma management.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at helping clients develop socially acceptable behaviors.
  • Support programs that encourage clients to understand and manage their health conditions effectively.
  • Utilize appropriate authority to establish behavioral guidelines within the nursing office.
  • Maintain thorough and precise records of all medications administered, adhering to agency policies.
  • Familiarize yourself with the pharmacy recordkeeping practices and relevant legal considerations.
  • Provide coverage for the Nursing Supervisor during their absence.
  • Draft memos and correspondence as needed.
  • Organize and maintain client records, including medical appointments and psychiatric notes.
  • Transport clients to medical appointments and assist with necessary documentation in coordination with the Nursing Supervisor.
  • Measure and record client weight and other vital statistics on a monthly basis.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid California LVN license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Special Requirements
  • Valid California driver's license, with an acceptable driving record and personal vehicle insurance.
