Key Responsibilities- Oversee patient care and ensure the safety of clients under your supervision.
- Act as a representative of the nursing department during weekly team discussions.
- Document and relay medical orders, including verbal instructions, to the pharmacy as per established protocols.
- Administer prescribed medications in accordance with agency guidelines.
- Provide first aid treatment as required.
- Collaborate with the Nursing Supervisor and Psychiatrist to review laboratory results.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of specialized dietary menus in conjunction with the Nursing Supervisor.
- Conduct monthly evaluations of clients with asthma, maintaining spirometer readings as necessary.
- Organize individual and group educational sessions on asthma management.
- Engage in programs aimed at fostering socially acceptable behaviors among clients.
- Support initiatives that help clients accept and manage their medical conditions effectively.
- Utilize appropriate authority to establish behavioral limits in the nursing office.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all medications administered, adhering to agency policies.
- Familiarize yourself with Hillsides' pharmacy recordkeeping practices and legal requirements.
- Provide coverage for the Nursing Supervisor's office in their absence.
- Draft memos and correspondence as necessary.
- Maintain client files, ensuring relevant medical appointments and psychiatric notes are properly documented.
- Transport clients to medical appointments and assist with related documentation in collaboration with the Nursing Supervisor.
- Monitor and record clients' weight and measurements on a monthly basis.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Possession of a valid California LVN license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- A valid California driver's license, a clean driving record, and personal vehicle insurance that meets Hillsides' standards.
