Mental Health Associate Position

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Associate to join our team at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. As a key member of our mental health nursing team, you will provide direct and indirect patient care activities for mental health patients, including technical duties in support of the delivery of nursing care and under supervision of a RN.
Responsibilities
- Perform direct and indirect patient care activities for mental health patients, including technical duties in support of the delivery of nursing care and under supervision of a RN.
- Lead and co-facilitate educational and activity groups.
- Assist with milieu management to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Level Degree in Education, Psychology or Sociology (in lieu of degree; 4 years' experience in behavioral health setting required).
- American Heart Association BLS Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-year prior Behavioral Health work experience.
