About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Coding Education Director, Clinical Data Specialist to join our team at Southeast Primary Care Partners (SPCP)/Southeast Medical Group.

This is a full-time position with an estimated annual salary of $83,500. As a key member of our coding education program, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest coding standards across the organization.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead Coding Education Program: Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for junior coders, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes.
  • Chart Reviews: Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to identify correct diagnosis codes and input them accurately into our risk adjustment and quality process database.
  • Audit and Compliance: Validate and uphold the precision, completeness, and correctness of diagnosis codes based on documentation reviewed, conforming to CMS's HCC methodologies and ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.
  • Provider Education: Guide providers to ensure documentation and coding meet necessary standards, cultivating a compliant coding culture.
  • Quality Improvement: Execute audits and perform Quality Improvement and Education Reviews using audit tools as directed by the SVP, RCM.

You will be instrumental in generating reports, supporting quality assurance measures, and offering training to providers and staff on risk adjustment and quality procedures.

Requirements
  • Certification: Must possess Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or similar medical coding certification.
  • Experience: At least five years of medical coding experience with impeccable attention to detail.
  • HCC Coding Experience: Three years in HCC coding.
  • Flexibility: Can adjust to varying work schedules and travel as required to clinic locations.
  • Technical Skills: Mastery over Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel, Outlook) for efficient data tasks.

In this role, your leadership and technical expertise will be crucial in achieving organizational and departmental coding/revenue goals, auditing internal processes, and creating effective SOPs.
