Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our team at Lancaster General Health's Roseville Pediatrics. As a key member of our primary care team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to children from birth through age 18.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for visits by utilizing our LGHP rooming standards tool.
  • Review and prepare patient prescription refills requests.
  • Administer injections and medications as prescribed by providers and in accordance with department protocol, regulatory requirements, and standards of practice.
  • Provide ongoing patient education on preventive care, chronic care management, medication usage, acute diagnosis treatment, and follow-up care.
  • Prepare and assist providers with various office-based procedures and treatments.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing, including hearing and vision screenings, Spot Vision Screenings, Rapid Cepheid Influenza, RSV, and COVID tests, Rapid Cepheid Strep test, Urinalysis, Hgb, and Lead Screens.
  • Assist with tracking and monitoring patient-administered tests and patient overdue laboratory orders.
  • Assess wounds and initiate the removal of sutures/staples as needed.
  • Ensure exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit.
  • Maintain and clean medical instruments and equipment after each procedure and as needed.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and quality of care.
  • Provide sound clinical advice via phone and/or electronic correspondence based on triage protocols and nursing judgment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a LPN or RN educational program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.
  • AHA CPR/BLS certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One to two years of nursing experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office.
  • Prior triage or other related specialty nursing experience.
