Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in this role is responsible for executing routine tasks while developing expertise through structured assignments. This position is accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care, which includes direct patient interaction and education for patients and their families. The RN delivers comprehensive and personalized care to all patients, ensuring their comfort and health in alignment with hospice principles and Sutter Health's policies and procedures.

The RN will create, implement, and manage an optimal interdisciplinary care plan that takes into account psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with patients, their families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals is essential through timely and effective communication.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations to ensure a high-quality patient experience.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and growth in nursing practice.

Work Schedule:

FULL-TIME DAY SHIFTS: Weekdays Varied / Every Other Weekend

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure & Certification:

  • RN - Registered Nurse in California
  • BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • Valid Driver's License Class C
  • Automobile Insurance

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant nursing experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of nursing theories, concepts, and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry standards, safety policies, and patient care best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work within established policies and procedures to meet objectives.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Skilled in identifying and resolving standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of each patient's protected health information (PHI).
  • Foster collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental goals.
