Job Title: Staff Nurse II, Pediatrics

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse II to join our pediatric team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, education, and support to our young patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, coordinate, and deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that incorporate psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers through effective communication and timely updates.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to ensure an optimal patient experience.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • RN-Registered Nurse licensure for the state where care is provided.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
  • ENPC-Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course certification within 180 days if required by the entity.
  • Minimum of six months paid working RN experience in Pediatrics with the last 2 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts, and practices.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
  • Possess written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
  • Time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize patient care, assignments, and work within standardized policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook).

Work Environment:

This position may regularly work, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drug(s) identified as hazardous, or potentially hazardous, by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for purposes of USP 800.
