Job Title: Research Associate IV Stem Cell Differentiation Specialist

UMass Chan Diabetes Center of Excellence is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate IV Stem Cell Differentiation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory, you will provide operational support to the Principal Investigator and contribute to cutting-edge research in stem cell biology and diabetes.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Stem Cell Differentiation Research Associates team, including scheduling, training, and projects.
  • Maintain current and ever-improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct complex laboratory experiments and design and perform multiple experiments with a high degree of independence.
  • Identify and write SOPs in compliance with EHS regulations.
  • Train and mentor lab personnel on proper lab conduct and techniques.
  • Manage laboratory spending and negotiate with vendors to optimize available resources.
  • Contribute to writing sections for manuscripts and grants.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in the Biological or Natural Sciences or equivalent and 5+ years of relevant research experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant research experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ability to analyze complex visual data.
  • Judgment and action skills required to solve commonly encountered problems.
