Security Team Specialist II

Job Summary:
The Department of Mental Health is seeking a highly skilled Security Team Specialist II to join our team. As a Security Team Specialist II, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of security personnel, ensuring that duties are performed in accordance with established laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of security personnel, ensuring that duties are performed in accordance with established laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Plan, establish, and monitor appropriate and uniform police, security, safety, and emergency procedures for assigned facilities and operations.
- Conduct investigations and ensure appropriate follow-up on reported incidents, crimes, accidents, or other matters requiring police intervention.
- Recommend purchases of equipment and supplies.
- Develop and maintain efficient reporting and record-keeping systems, including computerized information systems.
Requirements:
- At least two years of full-time experience in a governmental police force or law enforcement work, or any equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Associate's degree in police science, law enforcement, or criminal justice may be substituted for a maximum of one year of experience.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in criminal justice, police science, or law enforcement may be substituted for the required experience.
- Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
- Eligibility for appointment as a special police officer under Chapter 22C, Section 60 (DPH) and Section 59 (DMH & DMR) of the Massachusetts General Laws.
