Job OverviewCollabera is seeking a highly motivated molecular biologist to join our CHO Cell Line Development team and advance our Biologics pipeline. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology techniques, including PCR-based assays and sequencing analysis. They will also have hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and expertise in DNA sequence manipulation software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate expression vector design, construction, and quality control
  • Characterize CHO cell lines using a variety of molecular biology techniques, including qPCR, ddPCR, Southern blot, northern blot, and sequencing analysis
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and clear documentation of experiments and activities
  • Effectively organize and communicate research progress and planned activities through oral and written presentations
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Cell Line Development group and across multiple functional areas of the Bioprocess Development and Launch department to advance the company Biologics Pipeline
  • Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab
  • Demonstrate scientific initiative and creative thinking to achieve project goals and contribute team performance in a climate of scientific rigor
  • Contribute to the smooth and effective operation of the CHO Cell Line Development labs through the 5S program
  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, and GxP compliance

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years exp. or Master's Degree in Cell/Molecular Biology or a related field with 2 years of relevant experience; pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred
  • Expertise in molecular biology techniques, including PCR-based assays and sequencing analysis
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture
  • Experience with DNA sequence manipulation software and common software packages such as MS Office
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with peers and cross-functional team members
  • Strong planning, multitasking, time management, and troubleshooting skills
  • Collaborative and proactive attitude with strong scientific curiosity, work ethic, and attention to detail
