Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital seeks Nurse Care Specialist to provide inpatient mental health care. As a specialist, you will direct and participate in nursing care of adult and geriatric patients, transcribing, administering, and supervising medication administration. You will maintain accurate records, establish and maintain a current nursing care plan, and complete written assessments of nursing needs. You will also provide professional expertise and knowledge in carrying out emergency functions, all codes, and unexpected emergencies.

Our ideal candidates will have one year of experience as a registered nurse and will combine the knowledge, clinical skills, and judgment necessary to perform all nursing procedures as outlined in the scope of practice. The available schedules vary, with Full-Time and Part-Time options available. Employees in this position will be required to perform mandatory overtime.

Responsibilities include treating all patients with dignity and respect, performing duties of a charge nurse, directing, supervising, and providing nursing care, and establishing a plan of patient care through consultations with other staff and supervisors. You will also admit, discharge, and transfer patients, provide and coordinate health teaching, respond to health and safety issues, and assess, identify, and evaluate changes in patient condition.

Required qualifications include knowledge of the principles and practices of nursing, understanding of the problems in providing nursing services to special client groups, and demonstrated knowledge of emergency medical procedures. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Meditech and Meta experience, CPR and IV certification, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital provides intermediate and long-term inpatient care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. The facility provides services to 290 adults and 30 adolescents, inclusive of a Deaf Inpatient Mental Health Service program for 10 patients. The Department of Mental Health assures and provides access to services and supports to meet the mental health needs of individuals of all ages, enabling them to live, work, and participate in their communities.

Estimated salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Location: Worcester, Massachusetts.
