Job Summary

As an Animal Care Technician at Biomedical Research Models, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our research animals. Your primary responsibilities will include performing animal care procedures, such as acclimation, handling, and restraint, as well as providing feed, water, and enrichment. You will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of animal enclosures and equipment, and assisting with the set-up and receipt of animal shipments and supplies. Additionally, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment, such as autoclaves and cage washers, and maintaining accurate documentation of animal care procedures. Responsibilities

  • Perform animal care procedures, including acclimation, handling, and restraint
  • Provide feed, water, and enrichment for research animals
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of animal enclosures and equipment
  • Assist with the set-up and receipt of animal shipments and supplies
  • Operate and maintain equipment, such as autoclaves and cage washers
  • Maintain accurate documentation of animal care procedures

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of experience in animal care or a related field preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
