Responsibilities:- Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef in all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management. This includes tasks such as collecting, washing, preparing ingredients, seasoning, and cooking dishes according to recipes and safety standards.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu items by creating, testing, and refining culinary creations that align with special events, themes, and dietary restrictions.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant regulations and guidelines pertaining to food handling, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness. This includes maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Supervise kitchen operations as directed by the Executive Chef, providing guidance and support to other culinary staff members. Proactively address any issues or challenges that arise.
- Foster effective communication with kitchen personnel, front-of-house staff, management, vendors, and guests. Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in all interactions.
- Develop seasonal menus that incorporate fresh, local ingredients whenever possible. Implement cost control measures to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines. Determine inventory requirements, order products, and receive and catalog food items.
- Culinary degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a culinary setting is essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques, particularly for large-scale catered events.
- In-depth understanding of F&B preparation methods, Health Department regulations, and industry best practices.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills are crucial.
- Ability to contribute creatively to the development of new menu items.
