Senior Accounting Specialist - ASM Global

Overview

The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for executing the daily accounting operations within the organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains detailed records of fixed assets and conducts thorough account analyses.
  • Collaborates with the Finance Director in the preparation of comprehensive financial statements.
  • Reconciles accounts receivable and accounts payable control accounts with detailed aging reports.
  • Ensures accurate reconciliation of cash receipts and disbursements.
  • Facilitates the monthly closing process for sub-ledgers.
  • Inputs and manages journal entries efficiently.
  • Assists accounting clerks with the proper coding of receipts and disbursements into the general ledger.
  • Conducts account analyses on various general ledger accounts.
  • Performs additional functions as assigned by the accounting manager.
  • Maintains and audits box office ticket sales reports for accuracy.
  • Oversees and audits parking sales transactions.
  • Manages telephone deposits related to events.
Supervisory Duties
  • This role involves minimal supervisory responsibilities, primarily assisting junior staff accountants or newly hired accounting personnel. Provides support to accounting clerks within the department.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred experience includes part-time or summer internships with accounting responsibilities.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
Skills and Competencies
  • In-depth knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles.
  • Strong mathematical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Capability to interact effectively with all levels of staff, including management and clients.
  • Detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing software, with a willingness to learn and utilize accounting and financial reporting software.
