The American Accounting Association is in search of a proactive
STAFF ACCOUNTANT to enhance our Accounting Department.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a public accounting environment, capable of preparing, reviewing, and reconciling financial statements and records, and must be adaptable to flexible hours in a collaborative office setting.
Additional overtime may be necessary to meet project deadlines. This position is onsite with no remote work options available.The Staff Accountant will oversee daily accounting functions, including but not limited to, maintaining the general ledger, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
This role demands strong analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.Key Responsibilities:
Manual bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Processing payroll
Maintaining and updating financial records and documentation
Managing fixed asset transactions
Limited Support Provided For:
Annual CPA audits
Processing annual 1099 forms
Billing and collections
Accounts payable management
Cash handling
Budget preparation
Forecasting
Variance analysis
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of five years as a Staff Accountant
Experience in a public company, SOX-compliant preferred
Background in the service industry
At least two years of experience with an ERP system
Familiarity with payroll, general ledger, and sub-ledgers
Experience managing multiple sets of financial records
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Commitment to confidentiality and integrity
Strong attention to detail
Able to support comprehensive accounting functions
Education:
Bachelor's degree or associate degree with a major in accounting
