The Employment Services Case Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting newly arrived refugee clients in achieving self-sufficiency through meaningful employment opportunities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting intake assessments and providing pre-employment/job readiness orientation to clients eligible for employment services.
  • Introducing participants to the REMP program, outlining the rules and expectations involved.
  • Collaborating in the creation of self-sufficiency plans for employable adults and engaging them in a budgeting process to evaluate household income against expenses.
  • Delivering personalized job preparation, application assistance, and placement services that enhance clients' employability and lead to successful job placements.
  • Coordinating job readiness initiatives, including training, job search strategies, resume crafting, interview coaching, and additional support as necessary.
  • Building and nurturing long-term relationships with local employers to secure job placements for clients.
  • Monitoring job performance, wage levels, employer/employee satisfaction, and job retention rates.
  • Assisting clients and employers with post-placement challenges and ongoing employment needs.
  • Documenting all employment services and placements in the Client Track database and preparing periodic reports on self-sufficiency progress.
  • Working collaboratively with program clients to set and achieve financial objectives.
  • Partnering closely with RCA & RSS program caseworkers to ensure client adherence to program guidelines, including attendance in English language and job readiness training, as well as participation in career pathway certification programs.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole.

Experience in a non-profit or government environment, particularly working with immigrants or refugees with limited English proficiency, is preferred but not mandatory.
