Position Overview

Salary: Starting at $19 per hour

Role Summary:

Capitol Language Services is on the lookout for dedicated individuals who are enthusiastic about nurturing children's growth and ensuring their safety. As an After-School Activity Coordinator, you will be instrumental in creating a positive and interactive atmosphere for children during their after-school hours, catering to students from PreK3 to 5th grade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Availability required Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. No partial weeks accepted.
  • Engage children in a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, STEM projects, and homework assistance, while supervising playground and snack times.
  • Promote safety, inclusivity, and a bullying-free environment throughout the program.
  • Adhere to assigned schedules and promptly report any discrepancies.
  • Maintain attendance records during each transition.
  • Manage and accommodate student allergies and medical requirements.

Additional Duties:

  • Implement protocols for inclement weather, ensuring activities remain engaging and screen-free.
  • Supervise bathroom breaks.
  • Address minor behavioral issues through peaceful conflict resolution.
  • Report incidents and conflicts to the Program Coordinator and complete necessary documentation.
  • Organize, clean, and store activity materials in designated areas.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in childcare is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated patience and ability to cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Positive references from previous employers are necessary.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check is required.

Location:

Assigned to one of the multiple locations within the area.
