Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapy Registered Nurse to join our team at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest. As a key member of our cancer care team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals undergoing radiation therapy.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain medical histories from patient charts and update records as needed
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
  • Assess patients for current side effects and instruct them on how to manage them
  • Coordinate patient care within the hospital and with physician offices
  • Participate in weekly quality assurance chart reviews
  • Assist with brachytherapy procedures and provide education to patients and families
  • Support patients and families, encouraging problem-solving skills and referring them to the Cancer Center Social Worker as needed
Requirements
  • Current Virginia license or license pending results of State Board or compact license
  • One year of oncology nursing experience and two years of medical-surgical nursing
  • Preferred OCN certification
