Radiation Oncology Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our radiation oncology team at Johnston-Willis Hospital. As a radiation oncology nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals undergoing radiation therapy for various types of cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including administering radiation treatments, monitoring patient conditions, and educating patients and families on treatment options and side effects.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists, to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Assess patient needs, identify potential complications, and develop strategies to prevent or mitigate them.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
- 1 year of oncology or radiation oncology nursing experience in a clinic and/or acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
- Current certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.
