Role Overview:

As a registered nurse, you will independently execute direct patient care functions. You will apply the nursing process to deliver care that is appropriate for the developmental stage of each patient.

Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is essential to create a comprehensive care plan that addresses the needs of patients and their families.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating patient care. Utilize clinical judgment based on nursing skills acquired through formal education and practical experience to assess the patient's situation and develop an effective care plan aimed at promoting comfort.
  • Ensure that patient care adheres to safety standards, effectiveness, patient rights, and guest relations.
  • Supervise the care provided by the patient care team and coordinate the overall care plan.
  • Educate and facilitate learning for patients, families, and the care team, demonstrating sensitivity to diversity.
  • Collaborate with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement an effective care plan that encourages contributions from all parties to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Advocate for patients, addressing their concerns and assisting in resolving ethical and clinical issues.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions in the electronic health record system.
  • Safeguard Patient Health Information (PHI) at all times.
  • Adhere to infection prevention protocols (e.g., hand hygiene, waste disposal).
  • Provide competent and skilled care tailored to the identified needs of patients and families.
  • Work collaboratively with a focus on customer relations, sound clinical judgment, and decision-making based on evidence-based practices.
  • Continuously assess the patient's condition through ongoing evaluation and implement treatment adjustments as necessary in collaboration with the healthcare team, including the patient and family.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base and resources to manage the patient's needs effectively within the healthcare system.
Qualifications for Success:

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required.
  • Prior experience in Urgent Care, Ambulatory/Clinic settings, Clinic Coordination, or Phone Triage required.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent experience required.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Current Texas nursing license required.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
