We are seeking a skilled and experienced Substitute Nurse to join our team at Wylie ISD (TX). As a Substitute Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to students in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to students in a school setting, including administering medications, performing health assessments, and developing individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with school staff, including teachers, administrators, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for students.
- Participate in health education and promotion activities to promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles among students.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the school administration.
- Valid registered nurse license (RN) from the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Current automatic external defibrillator (AED) and cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificates.
- Two years of nursing experience, preferably in acute pediatric/adolescent care or school nursing.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Experience with skilled procedures such as gastrostomy (G-Tube, Mic-Key), intermittent clean catheterization, and tracheostomy.
- Knowledge of health appraisal to identify student health defects.
- Ability to implement policies and procedures.
