Substitute Nurse

We are seeking a qualified Substitute Nurse to join our team at Wylie ISD (TX). As a Substitute Nurse, you will be responsible for providing nursing care and support to students in a school setting.

• Provide nursing care and support to students in a school setting
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Monitor and maintain accurate records of student health and medical information
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
• Collaborate with school administrators and staff to develop and implement health-related policies and procedures

• Valid registered nurse license (RN) from the Texas Board of Nursing
• Current automatic external defibrillator (AED) and cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificates
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and maintain confidentiality
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to manage student behavior in a positive manner

• Two years nursing experience, preferably in acute pediatric/adolescent care or school nursing
• Experience with skilled procedures such as gastrostomy (G-Tube, Mic-Key), intermittent clean catheterization, and tracheostomy
