Position Overview

STORE OPERATIONS MANAGER
Under the guidance of the District Manager, the Store Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of a convenience retail establishment. This role encompasses all aspects of staffing, product merchandising, inventory oversight, financial management, and loss prevention strategies. The Store Operations Manager will lead and direct efforts to ensure exceptional customer service and streamlined, cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties are essential to the role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed:

  • Exercise significant autonomy in managing and directing the overall operational activities of the convenience store.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service.
  • Oversee employee scheduling and supervision.
  • Maintain consistent, compliant, and profitable operations, with a focus on long-term profit growth.
  • Engage with multiple suppliers for food, beverages, tobacco products, and merchandise.
  • Implement and uphold inventory management systems to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Monitor fuel inventory and respond to any alerts.
  • Promote monthly sales initiatives and special offers to meet sales objectives.
  • Address customer complaints and ensure effective resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing the operation of the convenience store.
  • Adhere to security protocols, including maintaining minimal cash on-site.
  • Encourage and train staff to enhance their sales capabilities and achieve store objectives through ongoing training and evaluations.
  • Prepare and review all necessary reports for payroll, banking, and auditing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analyze reports to improve sales and profit forecasts to meet budgetary goals.
  • Coordinate maintenance and cleanliness of the store, ensuring safe and sanitary conditions.
  • Enhance employee productivity and customer service, manage revenue, and control expenses in line with inventory and payroll budgets.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, policies, and procedures regarding tobacco and alcohol sales.
  • Maintain compliance with all operational policies and procedures.
  • Availability for early mornings, evenings, and weekends is required.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required; some college education preferred. Previous experience in a convenience store or gas station setting is advantageous. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
