The Lucas Lab, situated within the Department of Chemistry, is actively seeking a Laboratory Research Associate with expertise in working with intrinsically disordered proteins.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will routinely engage in protein expression and purification, alongside utilizing sophisticated biochemical and analytical instruments.

The primary research objective will focus on clarifying the structural and biochemical characteristics of amyloidogenic proteins.

The ideal candidate will be expected to independently conduct experiments, compile and analyze data, and assist in manuscript preparation, all while fostering a collaborative and rigorous laboratory atmosphere.

Regular technical progress reports will also be part of the responsibilities.

This position will be compensated on an hourly basis, with an anticipated average of 29 hours per week.

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, though occasional weekend work may be required.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field is essential.

We are looking for motivated and diligent candidates who possess a proven laboratory skill set, including sterile techniques, pipetting, and gel electrophoresis, along with a strong ability in meticulous record keeping, data organization, and presentation.
