Position Title: Central Logistics Coordinator

Department: Planning

Reports To: Senior Director, Planning / Dispatch Supervisor

Position Summary

The Central Logistics Coordinator is responsible for orchestrating and implementing a seamless and profitable operation, focusing on the effective scheduling of workforce resources.

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain constant communication with drivers throughout the operational day; available 24/7 for on-call support.

· Assist in confirming packing, loading, and delivery schedules in collaboration with planning teams.

· Review daily assigned shipments with drivers to ensure clarity and efficiency.

· Order necessary packing materials through service centers or vendors via a structured purchase order system.

· Ensure that certified background checks for labor are obtained and documented by the assistant.

· Input metric performance scores into the secure Budd Net system.

· Process Comdata requests for funds related to company drivers, including labor, accommodations, fuel, and other expenses.

· Complete job order tracking sheets and estimates for owner-operators for review and cash advance processing.

· Support drivers in resolving issues by coordinating with inter-departmental staff, including coordinators and planning teams.

· Update move line notes as necessary.

· Schedule parking permits and approvals through coordination efforts.

· Reserve shuttle services, one-way truck, and tractor rentals from providers such as Penske, Budget, and Ryder.

· Update coordination and planning for additional authorizations related to packing and weight overages.

· Interface with general managers and warehouse personnel to ensure smooth operations.

· Schedule shipments into and out of storage in collaboration with warehouse managers and agents.

· Assist the fleet in ensuring that drivers' logs, licenses, and medical cards are current and compliant.

· Manage requests for driver time off.

· Update documentation with driver-provided images, tare weights, gross weights, and shuttle records.

· Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Director of Planning.

Qualifications

· Experience: 2-4 years in dispatch within the moving industry.

· Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.

· Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word) and database management.

· Other: Strong communication skills, self-motivated, and exceptionally detail-oriented.
