Compensation: Hourly Rate: $76k-$109k

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the preparation of regular product cost statements and relevant operational reports.
  • Monitors fund expenditures and compiles data on various budget items for analysis.
  • Evaluates finalized product manufacturing costs and reviews unit costs of completed products.
  • Improves or develops methods for managing and calculating costs, gathering data to support operational budget creation.
  • Actively advocates for cost improvement initiatives.
  • Conducts variance analysis comparing actual, previous, and standard costs.
  • Oversees, evaluates, and reports on inventory valuation, production, supply chain, sourcing, R&D expenditures, Capital Expenditures, and other diverse costs.
  • Tracks R&D budgets and actuals by project level to facilitate informed decision-making in development efforts.
  • Creates budgets, forecasts, evaluates budget proposals, and generates necessary supporting documentation and rationale.
  • Produces reports summarizing and projecting company business activity and financial status concerning income, expenses, and earnings based on historical, current, and anticipated operations.
  • Champions business case validation in sourcing analysis, capital expenditure justification, or other decision-making processes.
  • Leads or supports special projects as required.
  • Some travel (approximately 10%) may be necessary during training and transition periods or in response to business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Finance or Accounting, with 5 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, standard and direct cost accounting.
  • Experience in process/discrete manufacturing is preferred.
  • Preference for experience in direct cost implementation and process improvement.
  • Proficient in PC usage, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Access). Familiarity with MS Dynamics or Axapta ERP systems is ideal.
  • Strong business acumen with solid reporting and analysis skills, proficiency in business case analysis, cost/expense projection assessments against actual figures, and proposing enhancements to the planning process when necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to identify areas for improvement and implement changes effectively.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills in team problem-solving scenarios.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of managing workload independently with minimal guidance, demonstrating urgency in achieving business objectives.
  • Approximately 10% travel during initial training periods, subject to adjustment based on business requirements.
