Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Assistant to join our team at Hudson Headwaters Health Network. As a key member of our health care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient support services and ensuring a seamless experience for our patients and providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt and professional greeting to patients and visitors
  • Assist with incoming and outgoing calls, faxes, and correspondence
  • Identify emergency situations and take appropriate actions
  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, prioritizing based on provider availability
  • Collect co-pays, co-insurance, and self-pay balances, and offer sliding fee program
  • Check patients out, including scheduling follow-up appointments and processing referrals
  • Reconcile payment batch amounts and report discrepancies to supervisor
  • Perform opening and closing procedures in accordance with policy and procedure
  • Provide highest level of customer service and protect patient confidentiality
  • Assist with training and meetings, and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Computer training and/or medical terminology training preferred
  • Minimum of one-year work experience in a medical office setting or equivalent training/education required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
  • Experience working with a diverse population required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required
  • Experience with EMR and knowledge of billing a plus
