About the Role
Glens Falls Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Transport Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our patient transport team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Transport patients by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment, including oxygen tanks and gauges, to ensure optimal patient care.
- Transport medical specimens, schedules, and other items with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Stock, clean, and maintain equipment and supplies necessary for patient transport.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in healthcare or patient transport preferred.
