Program Overview

 New Graduate RN Transition Program - Open for Applications

We are excited to announce our New Graduate RN Transition Program designed for recent nursing graduates. This program aims to support you as you embark on your professional journey as a registered nurse.

Program Structure

As participants in this program, you will engage in a structured residency experience while completing your departmental orientation. Each month, you will attend a four-hour educational session and work on a project based on evidence-based practice, which is to be finalized by the conclusion of the residency period. Attendance is required, and you will receive compensation for your participation in the residency sessions. These sessions will provide opportunities to interact with clinical specialists, collaborate on addressing clinical challenges, and gain valuable insights into available resources to enhance your practice.

Cohort Information

  • Cohorts will be established based on your start date. Applications for the residency program are continuously accepted, and your cohort will be determined accordingly.
  • For those interested in Critical Care Units, relevant clinical experience, externships, senior practicums, or completion of specific nursing courses is highly preferred.

Program Details

This 12-month transition-to-practice program utilizes the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program framework. We provide a series of educational and practical experiences tailored to assist you in transitioning into your first professional role as a registered nurse. This program is specifically designed for newly licensed registered nurses without prior experience.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must possess a current RN license by the program start date in Georgia or a Compact State.
  • Must successfully pass the nursing boards, with results verified by the designated deadline.
  • Must hold an active Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, remaining valid for at least 30 days post-start date.
  • Must provide a detailed resume outlining clinical rotation hours, facilities worked in, and specific units involved.
  • Must have graduated from a nursing program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
