Program Overview

The New Graduate RN Residency Program is designed to support newly licensed registered nurses as they transition into their first professional roles. This comprehensive program offers a structured 12-month experience that integrates learning with practical application in a clinical setting.

Program Structure

As participants in the residency, you will engage in departmental orientation while attending monthly educational sessions. Each session lasts four hours and focuses on evidence-based practice projects, which are essential for your professional development. Attendance is required, and compensation is provided for these educational sessions. Throughout the program, you will have opportunities to collaborate with clinical experts, tackle real-world clinical challenges, and access valuable resources to enhance your nursing practice.

Cohort Information

Cohorts are organized based on your start date. Applications for the Nurse Residency Program are continuously accepted, and your cohort assignment will be determined accordingly.

For those interested in Critical Care Units, prior clinical experience, externships, or relevant coursework is highly advantageous.

Qualifications Required

• A current RN license in Georgia or a Compact State by the program start date.
• Successful completion of board examinations, with verification of results prior to the start date.
• An active Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, valid for at least 30 days post-start date.
• A detailed resume outlining clinical rotation hours, facilities worked at, and specific units experienced.
• Graduation from a nursing program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
