About the Program
Piedmont Atlanta Hospital's RN Residency Program is a 12-month comprehensive transition-to-practice program designed to facilitate the progress of new graduate nurses from student to professional nurse. The program combines precepted orientation with blended learning experiences, led by dedicated preceptors, to prepare new graduate nurses for the demands of the clinical environment.
Program Objectives
- Develop the clinical judgment needed to rapidly recognize a change in patients' condition and the urgency of a clinical situation
- Cultivate excellent communication skills, allowing nurses to engage with colleagues and support patients
- Enjoy cohort experiences designed to promote peer and professional socialization and strengthen professional commitment to nursing

Responsibilities
The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. Requirements
- Graduate of a nursing program
- New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse
- BLS CPR certification
