New Graduate RN Residency Program

The New Graduate RN Residency Program is designed for those who have recently completed their nursing education and are looking to transition into their first professional role as a Registered Nurse. This comprehensive program offers a unique blend of learning and practical experience, ensuring a smooth transition into the nursing profession.
Program Structure
Participants will engage in a structured residency program while undergoing departmental orientation. Throughout the residency, residents will attend monthly educational sessions lasting four hours each, focusing on evidence-based practice projects that must be finalized by the conclusion of the residency period. Attendance at these sessions is mandatory, and participants will receive compensation for their time spent in the residency program. These sessions provide opportunities to collaborate with clinical experts, tackle clinical challenges, and gain insights into resources that enhance nursing practice.
Cohort Information
Cohorts are established based on the participant's start date. Applications for the Nurse Residency Program are continuously accepted, and the cohort assignment will be determined accordingly.
For those interested in Critical Care Units, prior clinical experience, externships, or relevant coursework is highly preferred.

Qualifications Required
• A current RN license in Georgia or a Compact State by the program's start date.
• Successful completion of the nursing board exams, with verification of results required.
• An active Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, valid for at least 30 days post-start date.
• A detailed resume outlining clinical rotation hours, facilities worked in, and specific units involved.
• Graduation from a nursing program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
