Program Overview

The New Graduate RN Residency Program is designed for recent nursing graduates to facilitate their transition into professional nursing roles. This comprehensive program is tailored for newly licensed registered nurses who are entering the workforce for the first time.

Program Structure:

  • Participants will engage in a structured residency program while completing departmental orientation.
  • Monthly four-hour educational sessions will be held, focusing on evidence-based practice projects that must be finalized within the residency period.
  • Attendance at these sessions is mandatory, and participants will receive compensation for their time.

During these sessions, residents will have opportunities to:

  • Interact with clinical experts.
  • Collaborate on addressing clinical challenges.
  • Gain insights into available resources to enhance their nursing practice.
Cohort Information

Cohorts: The residency cohorts are established based on the start date. Applications for the Nurse Residency Program are continuously accepted, and cohort assignments will be made accordingly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical experience, externships, or senior practicums are highly valued for consideration in Critical Care Units.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a current RN license in Georgia or a Compact State by the program start date.
  • Successful completion of board examinations, with verification required before the program commencement.
  • Active Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, valid for at least 30 days post-program start.
  • A comprehensive resume detailing clinical rotation hours and experience in specific nursing units is required.
  • Graduation from a nursing program accredited by CCNE or ACEN is necessary.
