We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ascension. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating radiographic equipment to produce high-quality clinical diagnostic radiographs and images.
Key Responsibilities- Operate radiographic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic radiographs and images.
- Perform diagnostic procedures according to established standards and radiation safety practices.
- Work directly with patients, radiologists, physicians, and fellow associates to ensure seamless patient care.
- Follow established rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Genesys Regional Medical Center.
- Deliver quality patient care, including the use of universal precautions, sterile technique, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Produce quality radiographs by selecting the appropriate technical factors, correctly positioning the patient, and manipulating equipment components properly.
- Represent the hospital in a positive manner both in and outside the work area.
- Ensure proper patient identification prior to the exam and properly identify finished radiographs with patient name, medical record number, and date.
- Maintain adequate patient radiation protection to assure the least possible exposure is given.
- Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Must possess equivalent of a high school diploma and completed an accredited 2-year radiology program.
This role requires the ability to be mobile and have normal manual dexterity. You will be required to assist, move, transfer, and lift patients, as well as move standard radiological equipment. You will also be exposed to patient illnesses and communicable diseases.
