Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our Diagnostic Radiology team at Henry Ford Health Genesys Hospital. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiographic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, performing diagnostic procedures according to established standards and radiation safety practices, and working directly with patients, radiologists, physicians, and fellow associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate radiographic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic radiographs and images
  • Perform diagnostic procedures according to established standards and radiation safety practices
  • Work directly with patients, radiologists, physicians, and fellow associates
  • Follow established rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Genesys Regional Medical Center
  • Deliver quality patient care, including the use of universal precautions, sterile technique, and maintaining patient confidentiality and medical ethics
  • Produce quality radiographs by selecting the appropriate technical factors, correctly positioning the patient, selecting the appropriate contrast media, and manipulating equipment components properly
  • Represent the hospital in a positive manner, both in and outside the work area, and practice good guest relations in promoting the image of the Radiology department and Genesys Regional Medical Center
  • Ensure proper patient identification prior to the exam and properly identify finished radiographs with patient name, medical record number, and date
  • Maintain adequate patient radiation protection to assure the least possible exposure is given
  • Assist in the instruction and training of radiology students and new employees, and act as a technical resource for radiology residents and radiologists
  • Exercise independent judgment in the absence of management and report all equipment malfunctions to management or service representatives
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly, and maintain supplies necessary to perform the job
Requirements
  • Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date required
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date required, or certified by the American Registry of Clinical Radiography Technologists (ARCRT)
  • Must possess equivalent of a high school diploma and completed an accredited 2-year radiology program
  • Experience preferred, not required
Work Environment

This position is located at Henry Ford Health Genesys Hospital, Department of Diagnostic Radiology, and requires working rotating weekends and some holidays. The work environment is hospital-wide, with exposure to patient illnesses and communicable diseases.
