Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Angiography Technologist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a key member of our Interventional Radiology department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform angiograms, digital angiography, and invasive specialized radiologic procedures under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Prepare and position patients for procedures, and operate complex radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment to obtain quality diagnostic radiographs and images.
  • Provide emergency angiographic services 24 hours a day, standby.
  • Deliver quality patient care, including the use of universal precautions, patient confidentiality, and medical ethics.
  • Assist physician specialists in sterile invasive procedures, such as arterial and venous catheterization studies.
  • Responsible for equipment, supplies, and inventories in special rooms.
  • Administer contrast agents under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Working knowledge of catheters, guide wires, and needles used in invasive procedures.
  • Perform sterile surgical scrub techniques for vascular procedures.
  • Proficient in handling emergency medical situations.
  • Evaluate equipment malfunctions and report to the proper authority.
  • Assist in the instruction and training of students and technical resources for residents.
  • Knowledge of subtraction techniques, hospital computer, and networking images.
  • Perform other related duties, such as staff radiologic technologist, clerical tasks, and patient transportation.
Requirements
  • Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support, credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography, credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Associates level degree in radiologic technology is preferred.
  • Requires three years' experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Must possess analytical skills, interpersonal skills, and guest relations to effectively interact with patients, staff, and physicians.
Working Conditions
