Skate Instructor

We are seeking a skilled Skate Instructor to join our team at the Plymouth Ice Center. As a Skate Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and coaching ice skating skills to participants of various ages and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Coaching: Ensure program instruction is taught in accordance with the ISI progression program, providing instruction to a variety of skate lesson levels and ages, and ensuring that class instruction is organized and utilizes proper skating techniques.
- Program Development: Ensure a successful skating program which results in engaged skaters and program growth, monitoring the well-being of all participants throughout skate lessons, and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all skaters.
- Communication and Administration: Administrate and participate in strategic meetings, establish open and active communication with skating director, coaches, skating participants, parents, and arena staff.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must have passed the skating level that you are assigned to instruct.
- Must be able to demonstrate all skills in the level that you would be assigned to teach.
- Must be able to work weekend hours.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Must be able to communicate positively and effectively with participants.
- Must understand or have ability to learn teaching techniques and proper skill progression.
- Prior teaching experience is a plus.
- Current skating memberships or certifications (PSA, USFSA, ISI, USA Hockey, etc).
