Under general supervision, this role is responsible for accurately fulfilling customer orders in a timely manner to ensure satisfaction. The primary focus is on processing orders for clients and promoting Genuine Parts Company's assets. This position involves working predominantly at the customer location.
JOB DUTIES
- Orders products to maintain optimal inventory levels for consignment clients.
- Responsible for sourcing items from branch inventory, distribution center stock, or supplier resources.
- Ensures the identification and sale of Genuine Parts Company's assets, which may involve locating specific products.
- Influences the company's gross profit by negotiating sale and purchase prices within defined parameters.
- Proactively generates sales by promoting Genuine Parts Company's offerings to existing clients.
- Expedites backorders and may prepare inventory for shipment to customers.
- Handles customer returns and can place orders without prior approval for amounts up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per purchase order.
- May adjust pricing for non-contract customers to meet competitive demands while maximizing company profit.
- Minimizes freight costs by determining the most cost-effective methods for fulfilling customer orders.
- Regularly interacts with customers to accurately obtain and fulfill orders. Engages with suppliers as needed to acquire pricing information.
- Collaborates with account representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
- May assist customers by troubleshooting issues via telephone or email and identifying the correct parts.
- Participates in training sessions to enhance professional growth and development.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Responds to customer inquiries, provides quotes, and processes orders through various communication methods.
- Typically requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Strong customer service and communication skills are essential. Ability to manage multiple tasks and time effectively is required.
- Moderate computer proficiency, including information processing, internal and external communication via email, utilizing business systems, and searching for products online.
- A good driving record is necessary.
- Reliability, organizational skills, and attention to detail are required.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: None required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: No supervisory responsibilities.
