Job Overview

Position Title: Senior Systems Architect - Mission Focused Systems Inc.

Role Summary:

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering engineering and programmatic support for the advancement of a digital maintenance software platform intended for naval applications. This position will oversee the team in the creation and documentation of the system, focusing on the functional, performance, and interface design elements of both current and future iterations of the software platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee system requirements and derived specifications to guarantee the successful delivery of production systems that align with established architectural frameworks.
  • Draft various systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Formulate system requirements and functional specifications, allocating these to specific hardware, software, facilities, and personnel components.
  • Facilitate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design assessments, program evaluations, and testing reviews that necessitate cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Lead an Integrated Product Team to innovate new capabilities based on comprehensive evaluations of development and operational considerations.
  • Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
  • Establish the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems, subsystems, and work products against their requirements in a formalized plan.
  • Provide overarching leadership, guidance, analysis, and technical direction for complex, multi-faceted systems engineering projects.
  • Act as a mentor and advisor to project and senior management, offering executive coaching and counsel.
  • Serve as a recognized authority in the relevant field with extensive knowledge of associated disciplines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, etc.).
  • A minimum of 20 years of professional experience; or 15 years with a related Master's degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and collaborate within a distributed team environment.
  • Proven capability to present information to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, etc.).
  • Demonstrated expertise in the integration of complex technological systems.
  • Experience working within a System Development Life Cycle.
  • Proven leadership and programmatic execution capabilities.
  • Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).
  • A methodical approach to problem-solving.

Clearance Requirement:

  • Active Secret Clearance is required.
  • Eligibility for a Secret Clearance with a successful background investigation is also acceptable.

Remote Work Capability: Hybrid
