About the Opportunity

Harris-Stowe State University seeks a seasoned professional to serve as its Chief Human Resource Officer. This key role will lead the human resource function, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment while driving business results through effective talent management and employee relations strategies.

The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of higher education trends, employment legislation, and strategic HR planning. They will also possess exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees, faculty, and executive leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Human Resource Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the human resource function, ensuring alignment with the university's mission and goals.
  • Talent Acquisition and Development: Lead the recruitment and retention efforts for professional staff and faculty, developing and implementing effective training programs to support employee growth and development.
  • Employee Relations and Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by providing guidance and support on employee relations matters, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements

To be considered for this dynamic opportunity, applicants must hold a Master's degree (Doctorate preferred) from a four-year college or university, along with 6-10 years of related experience. A PHR Certification/SHRM-CP is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
