About the Role
The Vice President of Artistic Planning serves as a key collaborator with the Music Director, Chief Operating Officer, and CEO to shape the artistic vision and direction of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. This role requires expertise in artistic programming and administration, with a strong focus on developing and executing concert programs that meet the highest standards of artistic excellence. The successful candidate will possess a deep knowledge of orchestral music, artists, and the symphonic industry, along with exceptional negotiation and contract administration skills.

Responsibilities
This position oversees all aspects of artistic planning and programming, including:
- Commissioning, media, residency, and touring strategies
- Developing and executing concert programs that showcase the finest artistic talent
- Supporting revenue goals and audience development objectives
- Negotiating contracts and managing budgets

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5+ years of artistic planning and programming experience, preferably in an orchestra setting
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop and sustain productive relationships with internal and external colleagues and artists
- Strong technological proficiency and attention to detail
- Valid U.S. driver's license and good driving record

Salary and Benefits
The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra offers a competitive salary range of $125,000 - $155,000 per year, based on experience, plus benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
