Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Welding Engineer to contribute to our esteemed organization. In this role, you will be tasked with the formulation of welding methodologies and protocols applicable to various welding scenarios and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Welding Engineer, your primary duties will include:
1. Overseeing the metallurgical laboratory operations.
2. Ensuring adherence to Military Welding Standards NAVSEA and Boiler Pressure Vessel Code ASME Section IX in all welding activities.
3. Evaluating welding rejects and non-compliance issues to determine root causes and implement corrective measures.
4. Recommending optimal utilization of welding personnel and equipment to align with the company's objectives.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is between $63,100 and $85,000, reflective of the New York market. Factors such as qualifications, relevant experience, and specific job scope will be considered in the final offer.

Your Contributions:
In this role, you will:
- Develop innovative welding procedures and oversee the evaluation of weld qualifications, ensuring customer approvals are obtained.
- Provide technical support to production personnel regarding welding processes.
- Assess and implement advanced welding technologies and recommend new equipment as necessary.
- Prepare weld records and maintain documentation for weld procedures and qualifications.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, you should possess:
- An engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
- An advanced degree in engineering with a focus on metallurgy, materials science, or welding engineering.
- A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with Oxyacetylene Hardsurfacing, PTA, GTA, and other welding techniques.
- Strong knowledge of material properties, specifications, and critical weld joints.
