Job Overview

Timmons Group is currently in search of a Senior Geospatial Data Analyst to become a vital part of our GIS Staff Augmentation team. This role is essential for driving technical excellence at one of our prestigious client locations.

As a Senior Geospatial Data Analyst, your primary responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of production tasks related to geospatial projects and data management. You will play a key role in assisting Project Managers and Developers to ensure project deliverables are met efficiently and effectively.

Our Geospatial division caters to a wide array of clients across various sectors, including government entities, utility companies, transportation, natural resources, and wildlife management. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for data analysis and the development of systems and solutions that drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing expert consulting on data management best practices, encompassing workflows, tools, governance models, and integration strategies.
  • Leading the design and development of enterprise-level geographic information systems (GIS).
  • Engaging in data model design and development tasks, applying advanced geospatial analysis techniques to datasets.
  • Working closely with the development team to offer GIS support, training, and troubleshooting for complex issues related to existing GIS applications, tools, and data.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of Esri-based GIS solutions and applications, performing cartographic tasks to create end-user map products, and providing ongoing support for GIS programs requiring programming and analysis.

Qualifications for a successful candidate should include, but are not limited to:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college in GIS, Surveying, Engineering, Geography, Information Systems, or a related field, along with at least eight years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expertise in Esri ArcGIS Software, including Desktop, Extensions, ArcGIS Enterprise Server & Portal, with a strong command of ArcGIS Server and geodatabases.
  • Experience in managing Esri versions and versioning schemes, as well as producing ArcGIS data services and managing caching for web-GIS applications.
  • Familiarity with the Esri Production Mapping suite of tools, including Data Reviewer, Workflow Manager, Task Assistant Manager, and optionally LRS and Esri's Roads and Highways.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server and Oracle database development and usage, along with fluency in scripting languages such as SQL, Python, ArcPy, .NET, and other spatial data processing tools.
  • Ability to produce high-quality cartographic products using both Esri and TileMill, complemented by strong oral and written communication skills.
