The Geospatial Solutions Consultant will serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for our geospatial offerings.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Sales and Content teams to enhance our solutions through focus groups, workshops, and direct client interactions.
Your responsibilities will include addressing complex geospatial challenges presented by clients, articulating the advantages and applications of our solutions, and refining our products based on client feedback and data adjustments.
This position will necessitate a collaborative and educational approach, along with a willingness to travel to client sites.When not traveling, the selected candidate will be expected to work from our office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with Sales and Content teams as the primary technical resource for our geospatial solutions during client engagements.
Prepare and configure geospatial data and web services to facilitate product demonstrations and evaluations.
Monitor customer-reported issues using a ticketing system; troubleshoot data as necessary.
Create reports and dashboards to analyze quality and trends in our geospatial data.
Automate processes to effectively visualize our solutions and expedite communication of data corrections.
Educate clients on our data structures, coverage, sources (metadata), and provide guidance on best practices for data interpretation and utilization.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Prior experience as a geospatial consultant or sales engineer with expertise in spatial data.
Proficient in editing and analyzing spatial data and translating client needs into appropriate GIS reports, web applications, and thematic maps.
Familiarity with ArcGIS and ESRI (Online, Pro, and Enterprise).
Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in developing spatial data ETL scripts and tools using Python, FME, or similar scripting languages.
Knowledge of SQL queries, including the ability to write queries.
Experience with MapInfo, Alteryx, and PowerBi.
Demonstrates excellent customer service, goal orientation, self-motivation, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Proven organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
